Green Garden Program

The Green Garden Program is a 4-step program designed to provide residents with information and irrigation devices to develop a water-efficient landscape that not only looks beautiful, but also conserves water and reduces water run-off.

Through this program, qualifying residents can receive a free landscape survey, conducted by a professional landscape technician and also qualify to receive a free “smart” irrigation sprinkler controller and free rotating sprinkler nozzles, all of which help conserve water and minimize water runoff.

4 Easy Steps

  1. Sign-up and participate in a free landscape survey **
  2. Attend a free 1 hour training workshop and receive a free “smart” sprinkler controller and rotating sprinkler nozzles (valued at over $300) **
  3. Residents install their controller and nozzles **
  4. West Basin provides a follow-up survey to ensure controller and nozzles were installed properly **

** To qualify in the program and receive free devices, residents must live within West Basin’s service area and meet all program participation criteria.

Step 1. Free Landscape Surveys
Free landscape surveys are available to qualifying sites. If eligible, a professionally trained landscape technician will survey your landscape, identify leaks and opportunities to conserve water, and provide a list of recommendations.

Step 2. Free “Smart” Controllers and Sprinkler Nozzles
After participating in the landscape survey, you may be eligible to receive a free “smart” sprinkler controller and rotating sprinkler nozzles. 50% of water is used outdoors to irrigate landscapes; therefore “Smart” controllers can save an average of 47 gallons per day.

Also, if eligible, you will be invited to a one-day exchange event where you’ll receive a free “smart” irrigation controller (in exchange for your old controller), rotating sprinkler nozzles, and attend a mandatory 1 hour training and informational seminar.

Step 3. Resident Installs Controller and Nozzles
Residents will receive free installation training at the one day workshop. The training will help residents learn how to install and program their new controller and sprinkler nozzles. Information about local certified installers will also be provided for the residents who want to hire a certified professional.

Step 4. Follow-Up Surveys
As part of the program requirements, a certified surveyor will schedule a follow-up survey with each resident to ensure that the controller and sprinkler nozzles were installed properly. If needed, the surveyor will work with the resident to “fine-tune” the irrigation schedule that has been programmed into the controller.
