FREE RESIDENTIAL LANDSCAPE CLASSES

In partnership with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, West Basin offers free residential landscape classes throughout the year. These half-day Saturday morning classes cover the basics of irrigation systems, watering and fertilizing, basic landscape design, plant identification and “smart” sprinkler controllers. Come learn how to improve your landscape and qualify for a free “smart” controller valued at $400.

To enroll in an upcoming class, please contact the South Bay Energy Savings Center at 310-543-3022.

FREE RESIDENTIAL LANDSCAPE SURVEYS(COMING SOON)

In 2008, West Basin will be launching a new program that will provide qualifying residents with free residential surveys. A professional and courteous surveyor will come out to your home and provide a free landscape survey. The survey is intended to provide the resident with recommendations on how to use water more efficiently and identify any problems, such as broken sprinkler heads.

Also by participating in the survey, the resident may also qualify to receive a free “smart” sprinkler controller, valued at $400, along with free rotating sprinkler nozzles that help conserve water. By implementing the landscape recommendations and installing “smart” irrigation controllers and sprinkler nozzles, residents will help to conserve water, reduce urban water run-off and save money on their water bills.

"SMART" SPRINKLER CONTROLLER EXCHANGE EVENTS

More than 50% of water consumed in the South Bay is used outdoors for irrigating lawns and plants. As a way to conserve water outdoors, West Basin and its partners offer free “Smart” sprinkler controllers. By participating in a pre- and post-landscape survey, qualifying residents can be eligible to receive a free controller valued at $400. “Smart” controllers use current weather information to irrigate which in turn provides your lawn and plants with the exact amount of water they need.
