High-Efficiency Toilet (HET) Rebate Program

High-Efficiency Toilets (HETs) flush at 20 percent below an Ultra-Low Flush Toilet (ULFT), equating to 1.3 gallons per flush. The average water savings for HETs is estimated to be 38 gallons per day (gpd) when replacing an average, non-efficient toilet and 7 gpd when replacing a ULFT.

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California offers a $165 rebate on HETs for multi-family dwellings including: owners of Apartments, Condominiums, Town Homes, Duplexes, Triplexes and Mobile Homes.

Follow these application steps for the Multi-Family Rebate Program.

  1. Before you purchase the device, confirm it is eligible for a rebate by checking the qualifying device lists, must be a dual flush or 1.3gpf or less model.
  2. Complete and return the application including original receipts and a copy of your water bill.
  3. Allow 8 - 12 weeks for processing.
