Residential Programs

West Basin Municipal Water District provides potable water to almost a million people in 17 cities and several unincorporated areas in the coastal Los Angeles area.  With close to 100,000 acre-feet (34 billion gallons) of water used in this area annually, and water supply cutbacks on the horizon, there are many opportunities to reduce water use at home.  Be sure to take our Home Conservation Tour, available from our home page or from the button to your right.

West Basin offers programs that target both indoor and outdoor water use. Below is a list of programs and rebates for qualifying residents in West Basin's service area to conserve water, energy, and money.

INDOOR

Single-Family Residents have access to FREE high-efficiency toilets through West Basin's high-efficiency toilet  (HET) give-away program event. Keep an eye on our News & Events page for an HET event in your neighborhood. Read about our successful HET event that we held in Summer 2008 in Inglewood!

Regional Residential Rebate Program provides rebates for high-efficiency toilets, high-efficiency clothes washers, synthetic turf, 'smart' sprinkler controllers, and rotating sprinkler nozzles. This program is coordinated by So Cal Water$mart in partnership with Metropolitan Water District.

Multi-Family Residents Cash rebates on water saving devices for apartments, condominiums, townhomes, duplexes, triplexes, and mobile homes.

 OUTDOOR

Green Garden Program provides a professional outdoor water survey for residents to assess where they can conserve in their outdoor water use. If they qualify, residents can then attend a 'smart' irrigation controller workshop, receive a FREE controller, and reduce runoff outside their home. Workshops will be posted on News & Events.

Ocean Friendly Program is in partnership with the Surfrider Foundation, providing FREE native, ocean-friendly landscaping workshops and available rebates for the 'smart' sprinkler controller. Workshops will be posted on our News & Events page.

California Friendly Program is in partnership with Metropolitan Water District and offers educational workshops about water-efficient plants and landscaping techniques. West Basin will be hosting two California Friendly workshops in 2008.  Keep an eye on our Calendar for a workshop near you.  Visit www.bewaterwise.com for more information about water-efficient landscaping.
