Thu, 04/23/2020 - 3:32pm

To support teachers, parents and students through COVID-19 (coronavirus) related school closures, West Basin’s education team has developed alternative programming and resources to help bridge the gap between in-person instruction and distance learning. The following water education resources are available to support learners of all ages explore their water resources and become environmental stewards:

  • Water Recycling Lesson Plan (for 3rd-12th grade teachers), intended as an alternative to a field trip to West Basin's Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility. This supports teachers conducting synchronous distance learning with their classrooms.
  • Water Education At-Home Toolkit that provides activities and lessons that encourage students to engage in exciting virtual water education opportunities.
  • West Basin’s Water Wonders series provides family-friendly activities to participate in while staying safer at home, together.
  • Live Water Recycling Webinars hosted by a West Basin education team member. Educators may request customized webinars to best support their students’ educational needs.

All resources can be accessed through West Basin’s Games & Classroom Resources page and will be regularly updated with new resources.
