Splash Science Traveling Classroom Presentations

You and your 3rd – 5th grade students can learn more about our limited Southern California water supply, West Basin’s ocean water desalination research and the marine animals this research aims to protect. This traveling program can visit your school and provides three interactive lessons, including a live marine animal touch tank experience!

Water is Life Classroom Art Lessons & Student Art Contest

West Basin’s “Water is Life” student art contest helps foster awareness of water conservation. This art challenge will inspire students to learn about our precious and limited water resources while thinking of creative ways to promote the contest theme “Water is Life." The contest is open to 3rd – 12th grade students attending schools located in the West Basin service area. Solar Cup Boat Building Competition

Solar Cup is the world’s largest solar boat building and racing competition in the world! Water Stars

Have you been on a recent classroom field trip to West Basin’s Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility? If so, you are half way to becoming a Water Star by saving 20 gallons of water each day! After your field trip, you received a Water Star Conservation Kit. Teach and Test Program

West Basin is a proud sponsor of the Surfrider Foundation’s Teach and Test Program where student volunteers from four local high schools collect water samples and analyze the water quality from our South Bay beaches for one year.
