Water Lab: West Basin’s Public Education Program Schedule Announced

West Basin Municipal Water District (West Basin) announced its free 2024 Water Lab program schedule comprised of community classes, water recycling facility tours, and online chat sessions with staff.  Water Lab provides opportunities to learn about our Southern California water supply, tour the Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility (ECLWRF), and discover what the District is doing to help residents conserve water and save money.  To view the full program schedule and register, please visit: www.westbasin.org/free-water-programs.

The 2024 Water Lab program includes:

Know Your H2O Classes (6-8 PM):

In-person classes take place at the ECLWRF in El Segundo.  Registrants will get an in-depth look at a wide range of current and emerging water topics and discover what can be done to save more water in our day-to-day activities.  Free parking and food provided.

  • Wednesday, March 13 – Maximizing Water Efficiency and Conservation in your Garden
  • Wednesday, May 15 – The Politics of Flowing Water
  • Wednesday, July 10 – Water Quality & Monitoring
  • Wednesday, September 11 – New Indoor & Outdoor Water Saving Technologies & Strategies

Recycled Water Facility Tours (10 AM–12 PM):

West Basin provides in-person tours of the ECLWRF for the public to see firsthand how a water treatment facility operates.  Free parking and light refreshments provided.

West Basin Chats – Rebate Programs (6-6:30 PM):

These virtual 30-minute question and answer sessions will focus on the District’s water conservation rebate programs. Attendees will have their questions answered by a West Basin representative.
