Metropolitan Water District 2018 Water is Life Calendar Features West Basin Student Submission

Tue, 12/12/2017 – 1:14pm

Palos Verdes High School student Jamie Doo was one of 36 students to be recognized by Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) at the Water is Life 2018 Student Art Celebration on Dec.7.

The student recognition ceremony celebrated winners of MWD’s regional Water is Life art contest. Doo originally submitted her artwork as a Division I contestant in West Basin Municipal Water District’s (West Basin) local competition and received an honorable mention. West Basin submits all contest grand prize and honorable mentions to MWD for consideration in their regional artwork competition.

Doo, along with the other students, will have her artwork reproduced in MWD’s 2018 Water is Life calendar.

The Water is Life Student Art Contest helps foster awareness of water conservation by challenging students to create artwork following the contest theme “Water is Life,” which promotes the idea of protecting Earth’s limited water resources.
