West Basin develops, implements and provides cost-effective water efficiency programs to local communities in its service area to help save water and increase local water supply reliability.
In addition to augmenting local water supplies, West Basin’s water efficiency and conservation programs also help residents and businesses become more water efficient and reduce their water and energy costs. Water efficiency has multiple benefits that include lowered energy costs, reduced urban water runoff, and pollution prevention.
West Basin’s water efficiency programs include a variety of programs and resources that assist every customer sector. In partnership with the Metropolitan Water District (MWD), West Basin provides educational classes, water surveys, free water efficiency devices, and rebates.
West Basin collaborates with the South Bay Environmental Services Center, local cities, water retailers, Los Angeles County, non-profits and other stakeholders to promote programs and assist the public with participating in the District’s various programs.
